Currency should revert back into a worldwide useful base, like potatoes or corn. I mean, what's the use paper currency when they become useless in fire?

Things to Do
Find Collection of poems by Kipling; continue daily runs despite giving up on out-racing the train on May 2; look into the mirror and whilst it cracks wonder aloud "What in blue hell am I doing with my life???"

26/04: Busy week ahead; tmrw doing a final behavioural test on my mice (all 33 of them), followed by a practice talk for wednesday to the dept; tuesday devoted to killing them meeces and gourging their brains out; wed giving the talk; rest of the week recovering from the hectic start by starting some bench work; friday kick starting the tests for the next batch of 36 mice.

Wondering if I should make the effort to visit Yarra Yering during the weekend which they open, if I even bother to call up to find out when they want to open... Prob watch Kill Bill Vol 2 sometime.. perhaps even that Jim Carrey show - the one with the long title..

20/04: Picture of hippocampal dissection from Defining a Molecular Atlas of the Hippocampus Using DNA Microarrays and High-Throughput In Situ Hybridization J. Neurosci. Lein et al. 24: 3879
Supplemental Figure 1. Dissection of hippocampal subregions. Areas CA1, CA3, and the DG were isolated from one another as shown in A-F. The hippocampus (B, C, arrows) is clearly visible once the overlying neocortex is peeled back (B), and it can be removed as an intact structure (C). The boundaries of the DG can be seen in the dissected hippocampus (D, E, arrows), allowing the isolation of CA1 (E) and CA3 (F). Rostral is to the left in A-F. G-I, Coronal views of the hippocampus at three planes of section along the rostrocaudal axis in cresyl violet-stained cryostat sections. Dashed lines in G indicate approximate regions dissected. CA1, CA3, Pyramidal cells of Ammon's horn; Sub, subiculum; fi, fimbria; cp, choroid plexus.

Crazy Rabbit !!! This virtual rabbit grabs the carrot!

Or how about a chicken for a slave?! Ask it to do stuff like "Do pushups"

03-04/04: Spent the weekend up in Sydney with Barry. For good wine and food > Click here

16/03: Having stayed in the new apt for a couple of nights now.. I must say that I'm getting irritated to be woken up at exactly 7.10am the past few mornings to the sound of 14-wheelers bringing in the pre-fabs to a construction site that is obviously nearby but not near enough for me to take note of.

3/3: My new address for presents and cash gifts: 24/17-21 Blackwood St, North Melbourne, VIC 3051

29/2: It's the leap day.. and I celebrated it by running in the Arthur Allens Corporate Cup which is a triathalon held at Elwood (between St Kilda's and Brighton). So I was up and out by 0530; race was supposed to start at 0700, but the weather wasn't the best this morning.. the waves were all jumpy.. but despite the cold sea winds, the water was a nice warm 21 degrees. Me and my colleagues participated in the Sprint Distance, so this is a 400m swim, 10km bike ride and a 4km run. I think most finished under 1 hour or there abouts. My calfs are all pulled stiff right now.. have put up the photos already.

03-04 Break: Went back to Singapore a couple of days before christmas before heading out to Bangkok with the family. Didn't bring any clothes back this time with the intention of getting new ones in Bangkok, but disappointed to find that the T-shirts I wanted like those copy stussy, quiksilver and billabong didn't come in XL size.. ended up with a McClaren-Benz polo, Sweden jersey, but a couple of good short-sleeves from this shop where we bought 10+ pieces.. each for under $10.. got a Frank Mueller watch too, but the dials don't work real well, and it stops if I don't pick it up to shake it a little after I take it off.. Good to meet with old friends again, Moses, Doodle, GP, Poh and LW.. we're really getting old.. we seem to be talking about sec sch days over and over again.. and deriving much fun from it.. then suddenly we veer into life discussions.. Did a bit of landscaping in time for Chinese New Year.. quite satisfied with my work and the outcome.. couldn't solve the problem of soil wash-off during the heavy rains.. got rid of a tank of medium sized louhans.. and shifted the fish about.. that area looks neater.. the rabbit is just as fat and spoilt.. hope it doesn't die this year cos i didn't take a photo with it this time.. bought plenty of plants with mum from the nursery.. brightened up the garden alot I think.. CNY was really great after missing last years'. Meeting up with the cousins is always good fun.. and seeing the nephews and nieces grow up.. didn't count ang-pao money this year.. oh well.. Irritated and sianz that my flight was on sunday morning (day 4) out.. cos it's quite sad to leave so soon into new year.. but oh well.. at least something to look forward to for next year...  hope this monkey year is good for me.

12/11: Wouldn't it be practical to practice culling on the human race? You'd control population numbers, reduce the strain on limited resources, and we'd be rid of the dumb people whose gene pool we could do without..

USA Fact#1: In Oregon, you are not allowed to pump your own petrol at the gas station. A pump attendant must do it for you.

If two mouses are mice and two louses are lice, why aren't two houses hice?

Isn't it funny how when people say "Isn't it funny" it's not funny at all?
